How Does Acupuncture Work?
Acupuncture works by gently moving the body's bio-electrical, electromagnetic and thermal energies. Collectively, these energies are known as Qi (Chi). By moving the Qi in the body, blood, fluids, toxins, and lymph are able to properly circulate, muscles unlock, spasms are relieved, and bones can gently realign themselves. The Acupuncturist resets the body to heal itself. Painful musculoskeletal conditions are relieved, psychological problems such as anxiety and depression are relieved, and the patient's view of
life is enhanced and illuminated.
Common and Effectively Treated Conditions:
What Does a Treatment Entail?
An Acupuncture treatment entails an initial evaluation, followed by a treatment on your first visit. During the treatment small acupuncture needles will be inserted into specific points located along the connective tissue highways throughout the body. The patient rests while needles are applied and a relaxing, deep calm is usually reported during and after a treatment. Essential oils, music and acupressure enhance the mentally calming and physically rejuvenating response to the Acupuncture. If there is a need for Cupping, cups are applied to the back, and sometimes the joints, spine and chest. Necessary stretches and yoga poses are explained and demonstrated. Essential oils may be used as aroma therapy or applied topically.
